  6.    This circular chamber is screened by a large drape of deep green velvet.
  7. There is a life-sized statue of St. Cuthbert, smiling, with his great cudgel
  8. held high in one hand while extending his other to the weak, and
  9. unbelieving.  Behind the statue are growing ferns and other plants, while to
  10. either side, there are great tree stumps.  An alter is carved from a single
  11. piece of bronzewood with billets, starbursts, and the symbol of St.
  12. Cuthbert.  The walls are covered with carved panels showing the various
  13. marvels performed by the Saint.  The only exit is through the curtains to
  14. the east.
